You may have noticed the recent Mark Thomas article on the upcoming Arms
Fair in the London Docklands, Sept. 11-14 (Guardian, 8.8.07).

Certain types of "defence equipment" are illegal to sell in the UK such
as leg irons, electro-shock gear and the like (see below).

Two years ago when Mark Thomas checked himself, he found such banned 
equipment on sale by Tar Ideal of Israel, and a Chinese company 
represented by one Mr Xia. in addition it took considerable time to find 
a policeman or a Customs officer to report this to.

Can I ask you to check with your colleagues at the Home Office that 
Customs will indeed be inspecting the stalls this year?
