AWE Aldermaston, Advanced Weapons Establishment, is working on new weapons, particularly new low-yield "battlefield" nuclear weapons. Aldermaston is apparently the biggest building project in Europe, at the moment. Yorkshire CND welcomes new Peace Education Worker Anna Liddle: peaceeducation@cnduk.org or 01274 730908. Anna Liddle is the new Peace Education worker for CND. She is based in the Yorkshire CND office, and since taking up the post in October has been developing CND's educational resources.

Helen John & Sylvia Boyes Yorkshire CND campaigners Helen John and Sylvia Boyes are currently preparing fot trial after entering Menwith Hill base and being charged with breaking the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act in April. They aim to prove that this 'anti terrorist' legislation is being used to prevent protestors undertaking peaceful, legitimate protest. Their trial begins on Tuesday January 9th |

CND Yorkshire members for CND Council were elected at Conference. They are: Alice Mahon, Hannah Tweddell, Carol Turnrer, and Helen John. Miriam Moss, Dave Webb and Jemma Bere were all elected as Yorkshire CND members. |
